A little piece of heaven

Sunday & Monday, June 1st & 2nd

Time to pack up and leave the shores of the Arkansas River and head into Tennessee.  Both Bruce and I are pretty sure we have never been in this state before.  Here is a picture of what Zoey does while Bruce and I get ready to go.

Bruce had to pull over again shortly after we started out to fix that same cargo door that popped open the last time.  The next time we start out from a campground, he is going to really push on it hard to make sure it's latched.

We drove I-40 and saw the most semi-trucks that I think I have ever seen. We passed through rice fields and construction.  I took a few pictures as we dodged Memphis and headed to our next stop.  Just barely caught the "Welcome to Tennessee" sign.

As we neared our destination, I captured our happy family and tried to show you the temperature and the humidity ... love that humidity ... not! (Temperature was 84, humidity 76.  We are not used to this!)

Our destination was found using our Passport America membership.  It cost us $44.00 per year and most campgrounds are 50% off.  You have to read the "notes" section and be sure to follow their instructions but it is well worth it. Check out their website and if you sign up, please use our number (R-0265614).  Yes, we will receive a $10.00 credit.

'Betsy' took us on an enjoyable trip through some beautiful Tennessee countryside; she probably could have had us exit off the interstate a little closer to the campground, but we forgave her this time since the ride was so enjoyable.

Here we are at our destination ... Big Buck Resort in Hornsby, TN.  We needed this!! No blacktop, no train, no rain.  It is off the beaten path with a pond and fishing, archery, trails, green grass and trees, and very friendly people.  We had a very interesting conversation with some full-timers who - again - gave us lots of tips.  Half the fun of taking this trip is going to be meeting and chatting with interesting people.

We will bid farewell to Big Buck tomorrow as we head to eastern Tennessee.
