What a welcome – dinner and a homemade apple pie! We are staying at good friends of ours –
Carol and Danny. Carol went to
high school with me; she was in the same class as my older brother. Danny is a retired diesel mechanic and
jack-of-all-trades. We are located in
the small town of Bergen, New York.
Bruce grew up not far from here in the town of Byron. We
settled in getting hooked up with water and electric and leveling out the
RV.
On Sunday, we were invited to a graduation party for a good
friends (Patti) daughter’s (Traci) son, Chad.
You can’t beat the food at these parties! Deviled eggs, Tri-color vegetable pasta, potato
salad, salt potatoes, Jell-O pretzel salad, BBQ, and of course a huge
cake! It was nice for me to finally put
faces with all the names of Carol’s grandkids that I have heard about and see
on Facebook, and it was really special to get to see Carol’s kids. Our girls and their kids were the same age
and whenever I used to get my hair cut, they would come all play together. I saw Lory, Tina, Timmy and Kelly. Mike was the only one missing. We also saw Patti's son Eric, his wife Sheri and their kids who were up visiting from Florida as well as Patti's former husband and another former classmate, Ed, and his wife, Liz.
It was mind-boggling to chat with folks we hadn't seen since 1983 or before!
