Resolution!!

Just a short note to let you know that we finally have resolution regarding the (hastily decided ) possible purchase of the 2015Thor Tuscany 45AT that I wrote about recently.

This is similiar to the one we put an offer on

(This link takes you to another link that has an hour video about the 2015 Tuscany.)

We attended Hershey, PA on August 10th where we saw the RV and “lost our minds.”  Today we finally received word from the 4th financial institution about a loan.  We were turned down.  Now, we are not exactly ‘crying in our beer’.  (And if you remember, I’m a firm believer in “what’s to be, will be.” We had humongous second thoughts about the purchase and even tried to get out of it.  But the only way that they would release the contract was if we refused the terms of the possible agreement, and it took forever to get that far.  This last credit company wanted many, many more dollars down than we felt we could afford so we refused.

What caused so much back and forth and uncertainty mostly lies in the fact of whether you are considered a full-time RV’er or not.  Because we (temporarily) have a renter in our home and our Homeowners Insurance Policy was changed to reflect that back in May (Landlord policy), we are considered full-time.  The one good thing about the refusal to finance is that we now know about how much we can safely borrow as full-timers – which is what we hope to become.  All of that will be determined when we get back to Los Lunas and see what our community and our property manager comes up with.

So – whew!  It’s finally over.  We’re in a bit of an uncomfortable situation right now as we sit in our RV park with an RV that all three slides leak on (and it’s been raining … often) and an almost non-existent hot water supply.  Hopefully we can still look into getting the Hydro Hot fixed on our way west so that when we are living at the Stagecoach RV Park for the month of November, that problem will be solved. The hardest part now will be deciding how much money we want to put into our 2003 Beaver Monterrey.

Tonight we celebrate with a glass of wine!!!
