"One Day at a Time, 2015” ..... Canada ..... (July 16th - August 19th) ….. August 9
August 9– Day 25 – 303 Google KM – Travel Day
Today was traveling day and not just any traveling day. We will be taking the Northumberland Ferries Limited
from Caribou, NS to Wood Islands, PEI.
When I called to inquire about the price, I was told it was free. FREE??!!
Well, PEI has it figured out. You
pay once when you leave. So I did the
math and figured that it would be cheaper to pay going over the bridge at the
end of our trip than pay for the ferry ride.
Besides, this was not a ferry like the Little Narrows ferry!
Bruce broke the rules and stayed down in the RV with Zoey
and slept. He said that one of the
worker-bees saw him but didn’t say a word and he noticed that the guy in the
commercial truck next to us was in the truck the whole time. Me? I
went up on top and enjoyed the scenery and the breezy day. And I enjoyed the people watching; it was kinda
like being in an airport!

Now, wouldn't you link with an island with roads as simple as this, we would have had no trouble? Not! As we were getting off the ferry, Betsy, our Rand McNally GPS, quit working. I was looking down to try and fix her and Bruce had the choice of go right or go left. He chose right; wrong! So what should have been a very simple journey to the Charlottetown/KOA, wasn't. But because it is so easy to get around, it didn't take us long and we enjoyed the sites along the way. We never did get back to that part of the island so I guess it was meant to be.
I had tried to book us into Cornwall KOA for 8 days but because it was another holiday ( Old Home Week - similar to our state fairs ), I could only get us a site until Friday, August 14th.
The scenic West River at low tide.
