"One Day at a Time, 2015” ….. Wakarusa, Indiana …..(October 26 – October 30) ….. Thor Service Center

October 26 - 30 Thor Service Center, Tour, Good Food

You would think that four days waiting in a service lounge for your RV to be finished would go by slowly, but it didn't.  I think our time went fast because of the great company we had!

Soon after arriving, a pattern was set up.  After 7 a.m., we would straggle into the break room depending on whose technician came to get their coach to start the work for the day.  I usually sat at the table and worked on my blog. Soon the others would straggle in.  When it got quiet, Charlotte and Roger would come in with their four little fur babies (Roxy, Ruthie, Sugar and Sylvie) and our noise level would increase.  Kim would usually leave to go jogging; one day she and Jim drove to South Bend to the Y to exercise.  For the most part, we stayed put in case our technician came out to consult with us on our problems and didn't drive around much to see the sights.  Bruce and I hope to come back here when we "do" Michigan and Wisconsin.

Gradually as the week wore on, our large group dwindled until only the "Broken-down Tuscany group" was left.  Kim and Jim were the first to be finished, and they left on Friday headed to Indianapolis to a wedding.  Bruce and I were next to be completed on Thursday but we decided to stay until Saturday.  We were going to stay in the area a few days to sight see but all the campgrounds around there closed October 31.  Rob and Cindy were finished and left real early on Saturday morning since they had to be back to Texas by Monday as Rob's medications ran out.  That left Charlotte and Roger; unfortunately, they had to stay at the service center over the weekend and were hoping to leave by Tuesday, November 3.

We all had so much information to exchange with each other: Tips and Tricks; stories of our camping adventures; where we were from; our families; our work backgrounds; our growing up years .....   Why, by the end of the week, we all knew each other pretty well!

On Wednesday most of us took a tour of the factory.  It was an interesting tour but we all kept wondering why their Quality Control isn't better.  There was a couple with our group who were touring several RV factories as they were thinking about purchasing one.  We were all polite and didn't tell them about all of our troubles.

On Thursday night we all went out to dinner together at Amish Acres in Nappanee.  Too much food! The barn that the restaurant is in was beautiful.  We all ate too much!! (Thank you Neal and Bev!!)

Brian was our tour guide.

This one was completed and going through the end-of-the-line audit.

Freightliner Chassis

And this is why they are so complicated to fix!!

Made by the Amish; many of the local Amish are employed at the RV factories.

I can't caption most of these pictures because I don't remember what everything was.  I do remember that the only way to get your refrigerator out of the RV if you need to replace it is to bust out the driver's side window.

We selected Broasted Chicken and Roast Beef as our two meat selections for the table.
